W2TF is an amazing and well written song. What a VERY creative idea for a song!

QUOTE(BradPaisley @ Jun 25 2009, 08:37 AM) When we put up the audio clips of the new album I could never find 30 sec of this song that summed it up in any way. So I talked my record label into letting the fan club hear the whole song ahead of time. It's the only way it works. This is my favorite track on the record for many reasons, from the groove to the message. If ever there was a song I wrote that I wanted to shout from a mountaintop, this is it. I guess I got to thinking about our world, our life, our times: If you wanted to totally blow my mind as a grade schooler, all you'd need is an iPhone with Pac Man on it. Done. I would've spontaneously combusted in my Reeboks. While you're at it, take that same time machine back to 1941 and tell my Grandpa to hang in there fighting in the South Pacific, cause his grandson will do concerts in Japan. And then go forward a few years from now and try explaining to my two boys that a short time ago people of the same race as our President couldn't ride in the front of a bus. You'll have trouble making any of us comprehend what you're saying. You know, looking at things now, I am very happy with this whole album. And this song is the glue. It completed it for me. So go have a listen! And then go listen to the whole thing June 30th. BP Fan Club members log in now to listen to "Welcome to the Future." A Brad Paisley fan, but not a Fan Club Member? I went to your Irvine concert last night and you just blew me away. I had tears in my eyes to be so close to such talent. I was at the stage and there you were with all that talent and passion. I hope that I can see you again in the future. I wish you continued success and beautiful times with your family. You deserve it. Suzanne Dorf :) |

But i am a big fan of all your songs for many different reasons some of my favorite could be: ticks, waiting on a women (because of andy griffith), when i get where i'm going and whiskey lullaby. but all of your music is great in its own way!!! have a blessed and good day!! |

American Saturday Night is good, but I think it might be my least favorite of all your albums. Having kids has made your music sentimental and I like your fun-loving music more. I hope you'll go back to fun Brad for the next album. That just my opinion.

That just my opinion. I enjoy seeing / hearing the growth of a singer / song writer because if it's not there, then he's just standing still. As Brad matures and his life changes I think it's unavoidable that his songs will change. Kind of like Hank Williams Jr's song about "all my rowdy friends have settled down". I think that fun loving spirit is still there in ASN; it's evident in songs like "Water" and "Catch All the Fish". They capture the humor that we enjoy so much. Perhaps I'm just sentimental but I really like when Brad steps up and does a song like "Waiting on a Woman" or as in Welcome To The Future he shows his social consciousness without making me feel I'm being lectured or criticized for a lack in my own social consciousness. Even in those two songs, his humor is still alive and well. Brad's fun loving side shows that he isn't afraid to take chances, and I like when his music reflects this. |
